The KMG556CL is a lightweight and compact belt-fed machine gun specifically designed for use as an assault machine gun when high firepower is required at short to medium ranges. It features proven design features and principles with additional features and capabilities such as a collapsible/telescoping stock, short receivers and multiple barrel options. The weapon can be deployed very comfortably from the shoulder, similar to an assault rifle, due to its lightweight design and moderate recoil. The grip provides a built-in bipod for classic use as a machine gun to accurately hit targets at a distance. Its high level of modularity allows it to be converted into a standard machine gun using most of the parts from the standard KMG 556 or 762.
